Nichols died three days after a confrontation with the officers during a traffic stop on Jan. 7. The attorneys for Nichols' family held a press conference about the charges Friday morning. "We look at how swiftly the district attorney brought charges them in less than 20 days, then we want to proclaim that this is the blueprint going forward for any time any officers, whether they be black or white will be held accountable," said attorney Benjamin Crump.Nichols' mother RowVaughn Wells, told reporters how painful it was for her to know that her son cried out for her in his time of need and she wasn't there for him, adding "It's funny, you know, he always said he was going to be famous one day.
