SOUNDBITE (English) Matthew Barakat, Associated Press:"The police in Chesapeake, Virginia, released what the shooter called a death note. It goes back to Tuesday's mass shooting at a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia. Six people were killed. Six others were wounded. And in this note that was released, Andre Bing the shooter, he apologized for his actions to some extent, but he did it in the context of sort of blaming other people for, you know, he felt he was harassed. He felt he was not treated well. And so it's sort of an apology by way of justifying in his mind why he thought he had to go on a shooting rampage."VIRGINIA DMV/CHESAPEAKE POLICE - MUST CREDITUnknown Date/Location3. Some of it is just very rambling and meandering. There's a reference to his songwriting, but mostly it's sort of a catalog of complaints."ASSOCIATED PRESSChesapeake, Virginia - 23 November 20227. It sort of fits what we had been hearing from some of the survivors of the shooting and people who worked at that Walmart that said he was - he was sort of a hostile manager. He was what they called a 'night lead' at the the Chesapeake Wal-Mart. They said he wasn't very-  he was socially awkward and was angry and had a lot of grievances. There were some witnesses that felt that he was targeting specific people in that break room. As another witness who felt like it was shooting at random. Of course, that's a very chaotic type of scene, and I think it would be hard for anyone to fully know what was going on in his head."ASSOCIATED PRESSChesapeake, Virginia - 23 November 20229. The shooting was towards the - was late in the evening as the Walmart was getting ready to close. He bought it that morning. They said he purchased it legally and that he had no criminal record. And that, of course, meshes with our own checks in Virginia. We certainly never found any kind of criminal record looking, doing our own searches through the courts."ASSOCIATED PRESS Chesapeake, Virginia - 23 November 202215. Police in Chesapeake, Virginia, issued a news release Friday that says they conducted a forensic analysis of Walmart supervisor Andre Bing's phone. Police say he was the shooter and was found dead at the scene of the shooting late Tuesday of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. In the note released by police, he said coworkers harassed him and mocked him. Police said in their release that he used a 9mm handgun legally purchased on Tuesday morning, hours before the shooting. The release said he had no criminal history.AP Video by Nathan Ellgren ===========================================================Clients are reminded: (i) to check the terms of their licence agreements for use of content outside news programming and that further advice and assistance can be obtained from the AP Archive on: Tel +44 (0) 20 7482 7482 Email: info@aparchive.com(ii) they should check with the applicable collecting society in their Territory regarding the clearance of any sound recording or performance included within the AP Television News service (iii) they have editorial responsibility for the use of all and any content included within the AP Television News service and for libel, privacy, compliance and third party rights applicable to their Territory.
