The building stored supplies for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis programs and "distributed supplies daily to assist more than 7,000 patients throughout the country," according to Venezuelan Health Minister Magaly Gutiérrez on her Twitter account. Firefighters arrived to battle the blaze as local residents looked on. "The fire grew instantaneously, thank God there is no loss of life, but as can be clearly seen, this is a huge loss for the state," said Jisley Cárdenas, a local community leader.
